Lithology and Thickness
The formation is comprised of clastic sequences and cross-bedded fluvial sandstones, with intercalations of siltstone, clays, and trace gypsum. Members include the calcareous sandstones and sandy limestones of the Ar Rahlah, and the lower Qarat Jahannam.
